Timileyin Okunlola, a dedicated reporter from EcoPivot, has been selected to participate in a prestigious climate change training program for women reporters in Africa.
The two-week training, organized by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in collaboration with the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), aims to deepen participants’ understanding of climate change reporting.
The training seeks to strengthen the capacity of women climate change reporters in the African region. It offers a comprehensive blend of theory, practical exercises, and peer learning, providing a solid grasp of climate science, climate policies, and gender dimensions in climate change reporting.
It will also focus on developing storytelling techniques that are both data-driven and human-centered.
At the end of the training, selected reporters are required to plan and execute climate change investigative journalism assignments.
